Three months ago, a builder posting as @ne1tmillionaire on X wanted one place to track "every indie hacker who's actually building," not followers or likes but GitHub commits, shipped products, and real monthly recurring revenue. That post got 3 likes and 4 comments.
Now the tool exists. "we just launched 🌌 VibeGalaxy a living galaxy where every indie project is a star," the same account wrote, describing how it works: ship daily or your star dims, a streak system tracks whether you keep at it, and the galaxy carries what the post calls verified MRR badges.
The mechanism is the pitch. Instead of a leaderboard of numbers, each maker gets a star in a night sky, and the star's brightness is meant to track whether they shipped that day. Stop shipping, and the star dims. The account frames this as galaxy activity rather than a stat, writing that the "galaxy breathes with real maker activity."
Adoption, so far, is small. At launch, the founder posted: "galaxy has 1 star right now. be #2." The second post drew 6 likes and 2 comments, roughly in line with the first.
Neither post explains how a badge gets marked "verified," what counts as a shipped product, or what happens to a star once its maker stops posting altogether. For a builder deciding whether to claim a star, that's the open question: whether verification means anything beyond a label, or whether, like most of this category, it runs on whatever the maker chooses to submit.
